What is Museums for All?
Museums for All (MFA) is a cooperative initiative between the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) to encourage increased and regular museum attendance by low-income and underserved families. Chicago Children’s Museum is the first cultural institution in the state of Illinois to sign on to this innovative community engagement initiative.
How does Museums for All work?
Any family that qualifies for state food assistance nationwide and is in possession of an EBT card (known as the Link card) or WIC ID can simply present the card and your ID for $3 admission per person for up to 6 people. There must be at least 1 adult and 1 child 17 years old or younger to qualify for the Museums for All admission rate—there are no exceptions. P-EBT cardholders are not eligible for the Museums for All admission rate.
Is the Museums for All rate only available on specific days of the week?
Any EBT card (known as the Link card, in Illinois) or WIC ID holder is eligible for the Museums for All admission rate to Chicago Children’s Museum anytime during regular hours of operation.
Do other Illinois museums participate in Museums for All?
Chicago Children’s Museum was the first Museum for All participating cultural institution in the state of Illinois, making Chicago the most populous metropolitan market in the country to launch this innovative community engagement. Is there a limit to the number of Museums for All visits an EBT or WIC cardholder can make?
An EBT card or WIC ID holder, can visit Chicago Children’s Museum as many times as they like (once daily) and receive the Museums for All rate each time. At each visit, there must be at least 1 adult and 1 child 17 years old or younger to qualify for the Museums for All admission rate.
